(per hour):
$10 + - for a simple sketch etc
$15 + - For normal quality work
$20 - $25 + - For complicated and detail oriented work
For the sake of not actually having to count hours I look over in detail what you give me to do and assess the amount of time I expect to accomplish it and set an overall price based on that.
If need be I might request a supplies fee (reasonably so).
I very much prefer a down payment (decided on went commission is accepted,) for the simple reason that it encourages me to accomplish the piece in a timely manner.
